Basic Function:

The Librarian is responsible for the delivery of the services to the student and other library users in the Unit Library Section in the College Library.

Major Responsibility:

• Supervises the program and the activities of the Unit/Section Library

• Prepares and maintains a job subject bibliography of library's collection

• Perform index job

• Supervises the work of the library aide and or library assistant under her.

• Prepares inventory

• Prepares weekly , monthly , bi-annual , and annual report to be submitted to the Director of Libraries

• Respond to reference queries

• Extends assistance to clientele in search of information

• Assist patrons to find needed materials

• Organize and maintains various information files

• Selects and classifies maps, clippings, pictures etc

• Examines new reference books and updates with new sources of information

• Assist readers to find books on subject desired

• Recommends books needed by clientele

• Prepares reading list , reading courses and club programs

• Writes book annotations

• Gives book reviews

• Organize book exhibits

• Conduct club activities

• Maintains bulletin boards ( announcement , posters , display etc )

• Plans and carries out reading project

• Instruct clientele on the use of the library

• Visits school to upgrade library direction and services

• Visit school to update library directions and services

• Tie-ups programs with groups and the organizations working with library programs

• Supervises shelves for the classification order and the condition of books and library materials

• Issues and receives books

• Prepares book slip

Qualifications:

Graduate of Bachelor of Library Science

With or without experience

With license

with good communication skill
