The role offers scope to develop selling skills, customer service and an understanding of materials, stock control, orders and deliveries.
The successful candidate will demonstrate: -
Proven experience in running a trade counter
Product knowledge and customer facing experience is essential.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to set realistic expectations
Strong relationship skills with customers and suppliers
Computer literate
Ability to work under pressure
Motivated and organised
Proactive with a high level of common sense
To be able to investigate and resolve any customer issues escalating where appropriate.
Minimum 2 year Trade Counter experience is required
Previous management experience would be beneficial
The ideal applicant must be physically fit due to the nature of the product involved as some manual handling will be required
Main Duties
Serve the customers over the counter by picking orders and Advising customers on what products are the best solution for them
Processing orders and payments taken over the counter, telephone and email.
Regular calls to customers updating them on their orders and arranging deliveries
General re-dressing of the shop area to ensure products are displayed with maximum appeal to the customer.
Receiving and checking off deliveries, highlighting any discrepancies and ensuring correct, secure and timely storage of all deliveries in line with health and safety guidelines.
Packing away the products and ensuring the shelves are always fully stacked as well as tidy.
Liasing with fitting co-ordinators ensuring all materials needed for each job are ready for the fitters on the day of fitting
5-day/40 hour per week between 8:00 am - 5pm Monday - Friday (with one Saturday per month required from 9am - 1pm).
