• The Structural Designer will work on a variety of structural steel projects ranging from basic beam and column structures to complex exo skeletal frames.

• Requirements:

o BEng (Hons) Structural Engineering with a view to obtaining charter ship in the near future.

o Must be familiar with project scopes, specifications and design criteria when assigned to a project team.

o Must be competent to Generate Scheme Designs and Value Engineering Solutions.

o Must be confident to work on his/her own initiative to generate solutions and evaluate other engineers designs.

o Must be capable to critique structural analysis models by hand approximation techniques and must be familiar with basic statics, dynamics and constituency relationships

o Must have the ability to take on increasing roles of responsibilities as their skills develop and grow eventually into a Senior Designer / Senior Manager role.

o Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the drafting / design of structural steel. The ideal range of experience is 5 to 12 years and related to industrial facility design.

o Must have solid conceptual and design process skills and good problem solving ability.

o Must have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

o Must be competent in 3D modeling and have a working knowledge in at least two leading structural software packages.

o Must have good listening, writing and communication skills.

o Must be proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
