Description
The Senior Environmental Consultant will lead environmental assessments, management planning, and compliance monitoring for infrastructure and construction projects. The role involves ensuring projects adhere to environmental laws, regulations, and sustainability standards while supporting regulatory approvals, stakeholder engagement, and the implementation of mitigation measures. The position requires both strategic oversight and hands-on expertise in Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and Environmental Management Plans (EMP).Key Responsibilities Lead Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and develop comprehensive Environmental Management Plans (EMP) for infrastructure and construction projects.Coordinate with regulators, stakeholders, and consultants to obtain permits, approvals, and ensure environmental compliance.Conduct site visits to collect environmental data (e.g., air, water, soil samples) and perform detailed analysis of potential risks and impacts.Develop mitigation measures and monitor their implementation throughout project execution.Establish and manage environmental monitoring programs to track ongoing impacts.Prepare detailed environmental reports, regulatory submissions, and support public hearings.Monitor environmental compliance during construction and ensure timely reporting to authorities.Facilitate stakeholder engagement on environmental issues and support audits by regulatory bodies.Coordinate cross-disciplinary project teams to implement mitigation and sustainability measures effectively.Develop and deliver training programs to raise environmental awareness among project staff and contractors.Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent qualification.Professional Certifications: MOCCAE Approval with proven EIA project experience.ISO Environment Management Systems) Lead Auditor.NEBOSH and/or IOSH certifications preferred.Experience Minimum 10 years of overall professional experience in environmental management and assessments.At least 3 years of relevant UAE experience in environmental projects, compliance, and stakeholder coordination.
