Role Overview As a Data Center Commissioning Engineer (Cx E), you will support the construction and commissioning of AWS data centers, overseeing vendors and contractors involved in systems such as: Medium and low voltage power systems Generators UPS HVAC systems Chilled Water Systems Building Management Systems (BMS) Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) Testing and balancing of pumps and hydronic systems Key Responsibilities You will oversee testing and validation of electrical and mechanical infrastructure, review design documents, lead Factory Witness Testing, and manage third-party vendors during onsite testing. You will own project success, resolve technical issues, and share lessons learned for team growth. You will contribute to scheduling, test script development, and project planning, ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and quality standards. Regular reporting on project progress and metrics to the Regional Manager is expected, along with managing multiple projects to meet milestones and control budgets. Additional Information You will coordinate site activities, manage commissioning vendors, escalate issues, and facilitate lessons learned to improve processes. Basic Qualifications 5+ years of experience in mission-critical facilities or data center infrastructure Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline 3+ years of commissioning experience Certification or training in NETA, ASHRAE, or commissioning courses Preferred Qualifications Strong communication, organization, and stress management skills Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems Ability to read and edit construction documents Experience developing and executing test procedures Alignment with Amazon’s leadership principles and technical complexity Amazon is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
