WSP Middle East is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Inspector. You will be responsible for executing work and managing operations of the site, including supervision and monitoring proper management of materials and workmanship, overseeing site activities, implementation, safety standards, quality compliance and project timelines, collaborating with project managers to develop project plans and schedules, ensuring that milestones are met on time and within budget, and monitoring and reporting project progress to senior management. Your new role, what's involved? Project Management: Manage and oversee Electrical activities and interfacing from inception to completion. Ensure compliance with contract requirements, design specifications, applicable codes, and regulatory requirements to ascertain quality and safety. Hands-on in Estimation, Constructability Review, Construction Management. Be well versed with the applicable codes, local regulations and industry standards to discharge duties. Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and ensure adherence to timelines and budgetary constraints. Coordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, architects, and regulatory agencies. Regularly report on project progress to senior management. Site Supervision: Closely monitor, guide and regulate the interfacing issues between contractors and provide heads up to avoid re-work. Liaise with clients for resolving Construction Design and other bottlenecks while maintaining and controlling all quality and safety functions. Investigate and report any safety incidents or near misses. Conduct regular inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety standards. Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize project outcomes and mitigate risks. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality of work, and adherence to safety protocols. Address any site-related issues promptly, providing technical guidance and solutions as necessary. Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and environmental standards. Design and Planning: Review site-related documentation like method statements, installation drawings, site testing procedures, etc. Review decommissioning study, feasibility study, and associated risk assessment. Conduct audits for 3rd party and EPC Contractors on a quarterly basis. Review project designs, specifications, and drawings to ensure accuracy and feasibility. Provide input during the design phase to optimize construction processes and materials selection. Collaborate with design teams to resolve any design-related issues or modifications. Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC): Implement QA/QC procedures to ensure construction work meets established standards and specifications. Conduct inspections and tests to verify the quality of materials and workmanship. Document and report any non-conformities or deviations, and work towards timely resolution. Work closely with architects, structural engineers, and other professionals to coordinate interdisciplinary aspects of projects. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, encouraging effective communication and teamwork. Provide mentorship and support to junior engineers and site staff as needed. Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental stewardship. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 5-10 years of site supervision experience, with a focus on power generation projects. Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for licensure. Proven experience in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on site management and construction. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
