HVAC Technician
Description
The HVAC Technician is responsible for performing skilled, complex work in the repair, maintenance, and installation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, steam distribution equipment, and energy management systems. Key Responsibilities Investigate and repair issues with various mechanical and electrical equipment in heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal functionality. Monitor and inspect heating and cooling systems to ensure proper and continued operation. Install and maintain a variety of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Lay out wires and pipes for completing HVAC installations. Conduct general and preventative maintenance of HVAC systems. Ensure all installations meet set standards and specifications. Secure and connect any loose wires properly. Calibrate thermostats and other system controls. Inspect and maintain motors, belts, and other components, including lubrication as needed. Replace filters and worn-out system parts promptly. Ensure adequate chemical composition levels in HVAC equipment. Handle conduit installation for HVAC systems. Order necessary supplies and equipment for HVAC maintenance or installation. Maintain an inventory of essential items required for HVAC projects. Respond to emergencies and resolve HVAC issues promptly. Maintain tools and equipment in good working order. Replace faulty or expired HVAC components as necessary. Fabricate parts when unavailable from suppliers. Adhere to building policies and standards. Ensure the fire alarm system is secure and operational. Monitor and update chilled water readings. Operate and maintain the Building Management System (BMS). Oversee the chemical treatment of chilled water systems. QHSE Responsibilities: Take reasonable care of your health and safety, and avoid actions that may risk the safety of others, including fellow employees and the public. Cooperate with company initiatives to improve health and safety in the workplace. Comply with any reasonable health and safety instructions provided. Refrain from tampering with or misusing tools or equipment intended for health, safety, or welfare purposes. Report any accidents, injuries, or illnesses you experience or become aware of involving others at your workplace. Skills Required Strong ability to read and interpret instructions and safety procedures associated with HVAC processes. Solid experience in using hand and power tools effectively. Proficiency in handling electronic and mechanical systems. Exceptional knowledge of providing technical assistance with the design and implementation of HVAC systems. Qualifications In-depth knowledge of commercial mechanical and electrical systems. Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints. Skilled in diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems. Diploma/ITI in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. Other Requirements 3–5 years of experience in the maintenance services market sector. Basic computer skills.
