Senior Data Engineer

Record-breaking MENA fintech PEMO is looking for a Data Engineer! Responsibilities Design and implement Pemo’s data infrastructure and analytics. Collaborate with engineering teams to develop complex data models. Work with stakeholders to understand business needs, document requirements, and facilitate data utilization. Optimize Postgre SQL performance through indexing, sharding, and schema design. Build and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines. Manage deployments, data migrations, and system upgrades. Create data infrastructure, ETL processes, dashboards, and reports for analysis and monitoring. Identify data collection gaps and define processes to address them. Establish and lead data governance, ensuring data quality, lineage, and security. Ensure compliance with regional data residency and regulatory requirements in UAE and KSA. Participate in the entire data development lifecycle, from understanding business needs to quality assurance and maintenance. Maintain documentation for data systems and processes. Provide on-call support as needed. Qualifications Experience in designing and optimizing database systems, with expertise in Postgre SQL. Proficiency in advanced SQL, with at least 5 years of experience working with large and complex datasets. Knowledge of dimensional data modeling and schema design in Data Warehouses. Experience with tools like Kafka, Elastic Search, and Big Query for data pipelines and analytics. Familiarity with data streaming platforms like m Particle, Rudder Stack, and Segment. Proficiency with BI and visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker. Experience in deploying Infrastructure-as-Code with tools like Terraform. Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform and its services. Strong communication skills in English and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
