The Data Center Facilities BMS/DCIM Operator is responsible for supervising and controlling the operation of the Building Management System (BMS) and Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) System. The operator monitors all electrical, ELV, fire/life safety equipment, and HVAC plant activities to ensure the data center’s building services are operating at peak efficiency. This includes maintaining and monitoring equipment temperatures and troubleshooting DCIM alarms. The operator serves as an expert technical resource, reporting to and collaborating with onsite engineers and third-party vendors. Ensuring uptime for mission-critical servers is paramount, aiming for better than 99.999% availability. Department : DC Operations Reporting To : DC Engineer Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain the Building Management System (BMS) to ensure proper functioning, monitoring the DCIM against approved benchmarks, including HVAC, lighting, fire suppression, generators, plumbing, and electrical systems. Perform routine checks to ensure the proper operation of control equipment, as directed by the Facility Engineer. Use the BMS/DCIM to monitor HVAC control systems and ensure they are performing correctly, adjusting variables and settings as needed. Maintain a database of HVAC system performance data to track energy efficiency and recommend improvements. Communicate maintenance and repair actions in writing to management as required. Follow established protocols for handling unexpected technical difficulties or other issues that may arise. Monitor and verify the operation of all BMS/DCIM field devices. Adjust BMS settings and parameters to meet changing conditions, such as load, environmental factors, and customer needs. Record maintenance data and generate reports as needed. Maintain job card documentation for all alarms or changes to systems/equipment. Monitor fire detection alarms, including smoke detectors, heat detectors, sprinklers, and emergency exits, in coordination with the Safety Function. Monitor the water tank supply level alarm, air handling units, and fresh air handling units. Monitor and control the fire pump system, motors, sewage pump, electrical system, and water systems in the data center building. Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Facility Engineer. Conduct daily checks on the health of all facility equipment, maintaining daily logs and records of maintenance functions. Create and close job cards in the CAFM (FSI) Mobile App as per site requirements. Respond promptly and efficiently to emergency calls. Review and understand equipment and operational methods for electrical systems, ELV systems, fire/life safety systems, and other systems. Comply with all safety procedures and requirements. Support after-hours building needs and activities as required. Attend relevant training sessions and seminars. Perform other tasks as requested. Skills Required Strong working knowledge of electrical and ELV systems, including secondary distribution and HVAC systems. Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, single-line diagrams, and rough shop drawings. Extensive knowledge of various skilled trades, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc. Ability to analyze infrastructure systems, identify issues, and implement corrective actions. Experienced and trained in BMS/DCIM operation. Detail-oriented with a vigilant approach to tasks. Proficient in computer operation, particularly with CAFM and mobile apps. Calm and composed when dealing with emergency situations, demonstrating integrity and commitment. Ability to follow instructions and procedures precisely. Personal Skills Strong communication skills in English. Good working knowledge of PC systems and CAFM Mobile Apps. Self-motivated and persistent. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to take initiative. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to meet demanding time constraints. Strong team player, capable of developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external contacts. Articulate, friendly, diplomatic, and able to negotiate effectively. Qualifications 2-3 years of BMS/DCIM Operator experience in data center maintenance/operations. 5+ years of total experience in BMS/DCIM operations. Other Requirements Data Center certifications are an added advantage. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). #J-18808-Ljbffr
