Culture, Cultural Heritage, Tourism, Architecture, Governance, Education and Training, Cultural Development, Economic and Social Development, Communication, Monitoring and Evaluation, Urban Planning, Infrastructure Engineering COUNTRY / PAYS: UAE STARTING DATE / DATE DE DEMARRAGE: September 2024 DURATION / DUREE: 12 months, renewable (3-month trial period) GENERAL OBJECTIVE / OBJECTIVE GENERAL: As a Resident Engineer in Abu Dhabi, you will: Supervise the conservation treatment of reinforced concrete structures. Guarantee the protection of the decorations and architectural finishes. Guarantee the respect of the prescription of the Conservation Management. Assess the condition of selected bearing vertical walls, in doubt to be kept. Coordinate and lead the contractor’s skilled and unskilled laborers. Support the Director of the Abu Dhabi Branch in the management of the assignment and in the liaison with the AD Department of Culture and Tourism. QUALIFICATION: Education: Master's Degree in Engineering, Master's Degree in Conservation/Structural Consolidation of Architectural Heritage. Qualifications: Conservation Engineer with a minimum of 10 years experience and a minimum of 5 years experience in the design of heritage structures, both masonry and reinforced concrete structures. At least 5 years of works supervision as Resident Engineer for both masonry and reinforced concrete structures. Experienced in structural and material repair and rehabilitation techniques. Experienced in structural health assessment procedures. Experienced in reinforced concrete treatment systems, chemical salt extraction, and cathodic protection. Fluent in written and spoken English. Fluent in reporting in English. Good knowledge of main software, such as Windows Office, AUTOCAD, In Design, Photoshop, etc. Required Documents: Motivation Letter CV including current residence information Reference letters and contacts SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE / EXPÉRIENCE SPÉCIFIQUE: - Self-motivated, independent, proactive, and deeply passionate about heritage conservation. Flexible, hard worker, and able to work in stressful conditions. Good in time management, communication, and team working. - Eager to work in the international context, in developing and emerging countries, and to undertake short or long missions abroad. - Possessing a driving license and available to drive in the project countries, when necessary.
