Project Manager – Environmental Control & Fuel Systems Department: Development Section: Program & Project Management Office (PMO) Reporting To: Head of Engineering Projects / Program Manager Role Overview The Project Manager – Environmental Control & Fuel Systems is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of Environmental Control Systems (ECS) and Fuel Systems within UAV development programs. This role ensures technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and timely delivery across all phases of the project lifecycle. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Systems Engineering (required). Master’s Degree or specialization in Thermal Systems, Propulsion/Fuel Systems, or Aerospace Systems Engineering (preferred). 8+ years of experience in aerospace or defense sectors, with at least 5 years in a project or technical leadership role focused on ECS and/or fuel systems. Direct experience with UAV, military aircraft, or aerospace platform integration of environmental and fuel subsystems. Key Responsibilities Define and manage scope, schedule, cost, risk, and quality for ECS and fuel system work packages. Drive cross-functional execution through design, testing, qualification, and integration stages. Lead program reviews and milestone planning (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR). Ensure alignment between design teams, system integrators, and procurement for timely delivery. Technical Oversight Guide system-level requirements, interface specifications, and validation strategies for ECS and fuel systems. Monitor subsystem performance during environmental, vibration, endurance, and qualification testing. Ensure compliance with aerospace and defense standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810, DO-160, AS9100). Manage technical and contractual relationships with ECS and fuel system suppliers. Coordinate with procurement and QA for vendor selection, performance tracking, and product acceptance. Facilitate technical reviews, factory acceptance tests (FATs), and design validation. Compliance & Documentation Maintain traceability from requirements to verification using tools such as DOORS or equivalent. Ensure configuration control, change management, and documentation throughout the lifecycle. Support airworthiness and certification processes through design reports, compliance matrices, and safety assessments. Ability to work under pressure with changing priorities. Willingness to travel for vendor audits, supplier coordination, and field testing. Core Competencies Behavioral Strong communication and leadership skills. Familiarity with CAD and system modeling tools (e.g., Simulink, Modelica). Experience in system testing, qualification planning, and validation documentation. Understanding of regulatory standards: MIL-STD-810, DO-160, AS9100, CS-UAS/GCAA. Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project or equivalent).
