Financial Controller

Overview Job Title: Financial Controller Reports to: Managing Director Direct reports: Assigned Staff The Financial Controller is responsible for all financial, management and job costing functions of the Opco. Responsibilities include ensuring timely preparation of financial and management information reports, reviewing and evaluating financial performance, budgeting, fund management, supervising a team of accounting and administration personnel. Implementation of Company management systems within department.Responsibilities Financial Supervise the accounts of the company. Organise the timely flow of accounts information. Prepare annual statutory audits. Liaise with external auditors and assist in preparation and accomplishment. Participate in special accounting / administrative projects initiated by Regional / Head Office. Co-ordinate the monthly and quarterly reporting, analysis and interpretation of financial information and actual results on a timely basis to the Opco Management, Regional and Head Office. Implement programmes as directed by the superiors. Preview and analyse management accounts data with the respective Profit Centre Managers. Ensure that all contracts and business dealings are in accordance with established Company practices and conform with local laws. Review insurance coverage and ensure adequate coverage for the company. Research area taxation requirements and ensure timely and complete compliance. Liaise with Bankers and arrange banking facilities as required. Specific Additional Duties Provide guidelines and assistance to other Business Units as requested by Regional / Head office. Assist, or liaise with, other Financial Controllers as and when necessary. Assist Managing Director with legal issues as required. Personnel Evaluate Education / Experience Requirements Recognised qualification as an accountant Min. 10 years relevant experience. Strong management skills.
