Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Posting Date: 12 May 2025Location: Abu Dhabi, AEContract Type: Fixed-Term Division: Electronics and Systems Engineering Level of experience: Senior RINA is currently recruiting for a Railway Senior System Engineer to join its office in Abu Dhabi within the Electronics and Systems Engineering Division.Mission The Railway System Engineer is responsible for designing, integrating, and optimizing railway systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role involves system-level thinking, covering rolling stock, signaling, infrastructure, power supply, and communication systems.Key Accountabilities System Requirements and Architecture: Defining and managing railway system requirements, system architecture, and interactions between subsystems (rolling stock, signaling, tracks, power supply).Technology Selection: Selecting appropriate technologies and configurations for new rail projects.System Integration: Ensuring interoperability between railway subsystems and interfaces, validating system compatibility across networks (e.g., ERTMS, CBTC, PTC).Performance Optimization: Enhancing system efficiency, capacity, energy consumption, and reliability; ensuring adherence to standards and project requirements; defining and monitoring V&V plans.Lifecycle Management: Managing upgrades, modernization projects, and supporting asset management and maintenance planning.Digitalization & Smart Technologies: Implementing Io T, AI, Big Data, Digital Twin, Remote Monitoring, and Smart Signaling solutions.Education Bachelor’s Degree in Transport Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Qualifications Signaling Systems (ETCS, CBTC, PTC, Interlocking)Interface management between hardware, software, and infrastructure Managing mixed traffic operations (High-speed, freight, commuter trains)CENELEC Standards: EN 50126 (RAMS), EN 50128 (Software), EN 50129 (Safety)ETCS/ERTMS (European Train Control System)UIC, AAR, and FRA Regulations Failure & Safety Analysis: Relia Soft, FMECA, FTA Tools Electrical & Mechanical Design: MATLAB, Simulink, CATIAProject Management & Lifecycle Management: V-Model, Agile, Waterfall methodologies Core Competencies: ADDRESS THE WAY - Big picture thinking and reinterpretation BUILD NETWORK - Trust building across departments and outside CLIENT INTIMACY - Embracing internal and external client needs EARN TRUST - Considering opinions and diversity MAKE EFFECTIVE DECISIONS - Prioritization and resource management MANAGE EMOTIONS - Recognizing and regulating emotions PIONEER CHANGE - Embracing and benefiting from change PROMOTE SUSTAINABILITY - Keeping promises and role modeling THINK FORWARD - Using experience for future actions With over 5,800 employees and 200 offices in 70 countries, RINA provides certification, marine classification, testing, supervision, inspection, training, and engineering consultancy services across various sectors.
