We're looking for an Automation Engineer to join our team!Why does this role matter? As an Automation Engineer, you'll fault find, troubleshoot, and improve controls solutions for automated material handling equipment (MHE), mentor team members, and drive innovations that impact customer deliveries daily.Learn more about Amazon RME in Australia.Key job responsibilities Partner with the wider RME team to ensure high equipment availability for internal customers.Coach and train technicians in control systems fault finding to foster continuous learning.Collaborate with the AU/EU Controls network to monitor MHE metrics effectively.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, providing visualization and data insights to internal customers.Work with IT, EU Controls Engineering, and Operations Engineering to maintain system documentation and backup procedures.Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment with global teams.Assist other sites within the AU network as needed.Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings accurately.Enhance coding strategies to conform to IEC 61131-3 standards.About the team Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team ensures our equipment performs optimally. We are a collaborative, technically skilled team led by experienced leaders, working together to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our global network.BASIC QUALIFICATIONSExperience with PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in continuous process or production environments.Support experience with various conveyors and sortation systems.Knowledge in material handling, flow, and capacity visualization and monitoring.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSA degree in computer science, electrical engineering, industrial electronics, or related technical field.Experience with ISO 13849 and ISO 62061 frameworks.Experience working in multi-site environments.Project management experience with frameworks like Agile and Waterfall.Knowledge of Six Sigma, data analysis, or process improvement techniques.Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia, paying respect to their elders past and present, and extending that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.Amazon is an equal opportunity employer, committed to an inclusive culture that empowers all employees.
