Logistics Team Leader
Description
To supervise, monitor and regulate the Team in their performance of assigned/delegated tasks.Coordinate with freight forwarders to arrange transportation via road, sea, and air freight, ensuring compliance with schedules and requirements for both inbound and outbound shipments to UAE plant.The role is being created as part of company’s succession planning, and to assist the superintendent on his task and make reports as & when required.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Supervision of subordinates: Organise and supervise the activities and work of a team and to ensure that all work pertaining to logistics coordination is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner.Lead, motivate, and encourage subordinates to deliver results Coach and set KPI for the team and conduct their performance review Planning of shipments & support: Planning of shipments as per Sales Orders & Proforma Invoice, (wherever applicable) received from concerned Dept. To assist in day today shipping operations, and warehouse as & when required.Ensure SO service levels are met with target given Generates various reports for shipping control and monitoring and submit to all concerned personnel/Dept.Booking containers and trucks for inbound shipments from all suppliers and ensures the best rate is obtained.Ensures the best route is taking to ship the materials from the supplier to plant in terms of cost, lead time, and documentation complexity.All containers should be booked on time after supply planning’s team confirmation.Ensure Daily Loading schedules are prepared & circulated well in advance (24 hrs. Advance) to all concerned (Transporters/Forwarders, WH, Security, BU Team etc.) in order to provide swift and efficient delivery of goods in a timely manner to satisfy client requirements & achieve shipping and warehouse target.Ensure daily tracking of inbound containers on the way to the plant and escalates if any delays.Documents Accuracy: Make sure all documents are reviewed before sending to Customer/Transporter. This can be monitored by Documents Check List (DCL) in order to make sure that such documents were double checked by respective officers All documents and stamps and signatures are obtained on time to not delay the shipments.Statements & Reports: Prepare statements and reports timely and accurately to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards.Provide reports with analytics with highlights and lowlights on performance Give visibility to management and supply chain team on shipment status Coordination & Communications: Coordinates with other Departments to ensure all Shipping operations are taking place in order and well organised.Communicate with other depts. And suppliers, if required, on shipping operations and activities.Maintain a good relationship with internal and external stakeholders.Attend meetings as advised by the management.Systems & ERP: Ensures a smooth transition to Microsoft Dynamics 365Being a key user and attending all meetings and trainings required for the project Gives training to end users oh MS D365Takes part in any project related to Logistics of the plant and contributes with clear inputs.Implement approved departmental policies, processes, procedures and instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.Quality, Health, Safety & Environment: Ensure that all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental procedures (MOH/DM), instructions and controls are adhered to so that the safety of employees, quality of products/services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE: Bachelor degree/Diploma - preferably in Logistics Preferably knowledge of International Shipping conventions and protocols /procedures & 2 Years FMCG distribution experience in supervisory role.Computer literate (MS word, Excel, Power point,& knowledge of ERP package is preferable)Strong leader ship personality, team playing ability to encourage people achieve task Well organized with good communication skills Good understanding of the FMCG business Ability to work under pressure Seniority level Seniority level Entry level Employment type Employment type Full-time Job function Job function Supply Chain Industries Food and Beverage Services Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Confidential by 2x Supply Chain & Logistics Lead (Dubai-based)Inbound Supply Chain Manager, Inbound Supply Chain We’re unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
