Description The Division of Engineering (Civil and Urban Engineering) at New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking to recruit a post-doctoral associate to work on research related to infrastructure systems and the environment under the supervision of Dr. Ahmad Bin Thaneya.The post-doctoral associate will lead collaborative efforts to advance research at the intersection of infrastructure, climate, and human health. Current projects include: Developing optimization models to analyze and mitigate exposure to fine particulate matter (PM2.5) from infrastructure systems such as transportation networks, manufacturing, and truck routing.Assessing the relevance of the intake fraction as a metric for infrastructure design, management, and policymaking.Investigating residual PM2.5 exposure sources post-electric vehicle adoption, including emissions from electricity generation, transportation, and supply chain effects.Conducting life-cycle uncertainty assessments of building materials, carbon sinks, and low-carbon fuels.Candidates should demonstrate a strong theoretical background and proficiency in areas such as infrastructure modeling, emissions inventory, air quality modeling, exposure assessment, and life-cycle assessment. The role involves leading research efforts and contributing to publications in reputable journals.Qualifications: A Ph D in Civil and Environmental Engineering or a related field Proficiency in programming languages like Python or MATLABA strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV with publications, research statement, transcript, and two references in PDF format.
