Quality Control Inspector
Description
The Garment Quality Controller ensures every garment meets defined quality standards at all stages—from pre-production to final inspection—by monitoring materials, production processes, and finished products.Key Responsibilities1. Pre‑Production Understand and review buyer specs, technical packs, sizing charts, trims, and other requirements.Inspect fabrics and trims (using 4‑Point System, colorfastness, strength, GSM tests).Evaluate and approve sample garments (fit, stitching, finishing tests).Calibrate machines and equipment; train operators on standards.2. In‑Line/Product Inspections Monitor production in stages (cutting, sewing, finishing) for defects, shading, measurements.Identify and categorize defects (e.g., stitching faults, color mismatches, faulty trims).Take corrective actions—work with production to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.3. Final Inspection & Pre‑Shipment Carry out final quality checks: measurements, appearance, finishing, packaging & labeling.Ensure products comply with AQL standards and legal/export regulations.Document findings, generate inspection & non‑conformity reports.4. Process & Supplier Management Develop, implement & review QC procedures and SOPs.Audit suppliers, enforce their adherence to your quality standards.Maintain quality metrics, analyze trends, and lead continuous improvement efforts.5. Communication & Training Liaise between production, design, suppliers, and buyers on quality issues.Train factory staff and new QC personnel on inspection methods and quality policies.Required Skills & Qualifications Education: High school diploma; ideally a degree or certification in textiles, apparel engineering, quality management.Experience: 1–3 years in QC role, 3–5 years for senior or luxury brands.Technical skills: Knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, inspection tools, AQL, ERP software.Soft skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, analytical problem-solving, ability to manage multiple tasks.Working Conditions & Metrics On-site at garment factories or supplier sites.Frequent travel for supplier or production visits (especially for luxury/outerwear roles).KPIs: defect rates, AQL compliance, timely detection, report accuracy, and corrective action implementation.️ Why This Role Matters Ensures brand reputation and customer satisfaction through consistent quality.Minimizes costs, returns, and chargebacks.Drives continuous product improvement and process efficiency. #J-18808-Ljbffr
