is responsible for the Job Description JOB PURPOSEThe Senior Editor is responsible for the development of press releases, editorial content and news media in line with the Communications Plans set by the Comms and Media Relations team.He/she is responsible for the creation of press releases to support the GDMO strategic vision and alignment to communicating and promoting the Dubai Key Messages, a matrix of communication messages aligned with the Dubai Vision.He/she is additionally responsible for supporting the Strategic Relations Director and the Editorial Head with Crisis Communications content, including statements and fact sheets, in case of crisis situations.The role holder is expected to demonstrate teamwork skills and carry out his/her duties in accordance with the relevant business policies and procedures.Key Accountabilities Develop press releases in Arabic and/or English for GDMO, government/semi-government/private entities, DPC and Brand Dubai Support the Strategic Relations Director with Crisis Comms activities related to developing press releases and the fact sheet.Provide translation support to the Content Planning team for social media and website content Develop press releases for GDMO news content, ensuring content is linked to Dubai Key Messages Translate Arabic to English and vice versa for GDMO news content (for media and website, as needed)Develop press releases for B2B news content, ensuring content is linked to Dubai Key Messages Translate Arabic to English and vice versa for government, semi-government and private entities’ news content (for media and website, as needed)Develop press releases for DPC news content, ensuring content is linked to Dubai Key Messages Translate Arabic to English and vice versa for DPC news content (for media and website, as needed)Develop press releases for Brand Dubai news content, ensuring content is linked to Dubai Key Messages Translate Arabic to English and vice versa for Brand Dubai news content (for media and website, as needed)Support the Social Media and Website team to develop copy for social media captions and/or content (text overlay or text-based posts) in Arabic and/or English Support the Social Media and Website team to develop copy for website content in Arabic and/or English Stay up-to-date on digital and traditional press/news trends and best practices Develop different writing styles to suit audience needs across platforms, depending on the specific press release, the goal associated with the press release and the intended platform (digital versus traditional)Strengthen editorial skills, develop skills for content across digital media, such as optimizing press release content for SEO, readability, and audience engagement Support Senior Editors with the creation of Crisis Communications content, including initial and on-going statements across social media and news channels (TV and print), as applicable Support Senior Editors with the creation of fact sheets for crises, in line with the Crisis Communications process Job Specifications Key Interactions & Nature of Interaction Internal: Collaborate with Media Analytics Center to align press and editorial content with the Dubai Key Messages Collaborate with Strategy & Excellence to work on strategic projects and initiatives, ensure process excellence and adhere to KPI achievement and reporting Collaborate with Content Planning to identify and source photos and videos for press/editorial content Collaborate with Comms and Media Relations to provide press releases for Communications Plans Collaborate with the Strategic Relations Director for Crisis Communications content and the crisis fact sheet development Work closely with Senior Editor(s) to continuously build editorial skills and techniques across both traditional and digital media Technical Skills Proficient: Knowledge of media communications and the press industry Proficient: Knowledge of existing regulatory laws and procedures within UAEProficient: Command of written and spoken Arabic and English Behavioural Competencies Proficient: Evoking and Disseminating Positive Energy Proficient: Community Focus and Responsiveness to its Needs Proficient: Time Management and Task Prioritization Proficient: Excellence in Execution Proficient: Continuous Learning and Improvement Proficient: Creativity and Innovation Qualifications Experience Required Functional Experience A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role Leadership/Supervisory A minimum of 3 years working in
