Health Safety Environment Engineer

Job Description: Strong knowledge of local HSE standards and regulations, including DM, DDA, Trakhees, and SPSA.Familiarity with international standards such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.Priority will be given to candidates with an SPSA (Sharjah) Registration Card and Trakhees Card.Priority will be given to candidates with an ARADA, MAG, ALTA, EMAAR etc approval.Minimum Qualifications: Diploma/Degree in an engineering-related field.A Bachelor’s degree is required, and it must be UAE-attested.Mandatory HSE qualifications include: OSH Diploma Level 6NEBOSH IGCAdditional certifications, which will be given priority: SARS card from Trakhees Cert IOSH, CMIOSH, CSP, MIIRSM, or FRIISMIOSH Managing Safely/Working Safely and Train the Trainer certifications Lead Auditor certification (IRCA) for ISO 45001 and 14001.Additional skills that will be advantageous: Incident investigation, first aid, CPR, and firefighting training.Experience Requirements: At least 10 years of UAE experience, particularly in high-rise building and villa construction projects.At least 5 years of experience in a consultant role.Additional Requirements: Candidates must have a personal car and a UAE driving license.Key Roles and Responsibilities: Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections/audits of site activities to ensure supervision of all contractors and compliance with client, DAR, and local authorities requirements.Review of the contractor's HSE plan, logistics plan, lifting plan, MSRA, etc.Organize and participate in weekly HSE walkthroughs, contractor meetings, and monthly HSE award ceremonies.Develop, implement, and monitor project-specific HSE management systems in line with DAR, Client, and local authorities HSE standards.Ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines set by DM, Trakhees, SPSA, DDA, and Civil Defence Regulations throughout all project phases.Perform risk assessments, hazard analyses, and safety audits to effectively identify and mitigate potential risks.Lead incident investigations, conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions.Provide HSE training, awareness programs, and toolbox talks to internal teams, and ensure compliance by all parties.Oversee contractors’ HSE documentation, including permits, method statements, risk assessments, and compliance reports.Collaborate with contractors, consultants, clients, and local authorities to align project activities with HSE policies and standards.Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory inspections and audits conducted by local authorities.Promote and drive continuous improvement initiatives for HSE practices at the project site.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with employees, management, and regulatory bodies.Strong analytical thinking to evaluate and address safety hazards and risks effectively.Problem-solving skills to resolve safety issues quickly and efficiently.Leadership skills to promote a culture of safety and lead by example.Attention to detail and ability to monitor safety measures meticulously.Strong project management skills to plan, implement, and track HSE programs.Teamwork and collaboration skills to work closely with other departments, management, and external contractors.Candidates willing to work on projects in multiple areas (Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah) will be given priority, as well as those willing to support other projects in the absence of the HSE personnel. #J-18808-Ljbffr
