Get AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.The Sales Engineer is responsible for conducting sales within the geographical area of customers assigned, by visiting new and current customers, identifying customer needs, presenting appropriate product solutions, preparing sales (commercial and technical) offers, organizing sales files, closing sales and effectively communicating with customers to understand their needs and ensuring that the products and services meet the technical specifications and customer expectations.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Sales Execution and Business Development Handle the entire sales process from initial contact through to deal closure, ensuring a smooth and successful transaction.Prepare and present sales proposals, quotations, and contracts, ensuring all terms and conditions are clearly defined and agreed upon.Maintain and update, all related hard and soft records and filing systems with the timely entry of data, such as – but not limited to – all CRM as well as all other records (excel files and any others); in addition to ensuring proper filing of all hard copy records.Identify and pursue new business opportunities, expanding the client base for generators and related products.Prepare, develop and deliver technical presentations to customers, highlighting the benefits of our products and solutions.Prepare sales plans and review them with the Regional Sales Manager for agreement on execution as per the latter’s directions and mutual buy-in.Coordinate with the Finance Department on the timely collection of receivables from his clients and highlight the critical accounts when needed.Participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking activities to generate leads and promote the company’s products and services.Stay up to date with market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments related to power generation.Customer Relationship Management Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with customers, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.Regularly meet with clients to discuss their power generation needs and offer tailored solutions.Respond to customer inquiries, offering technical support and after-sales service.Provide ongoing support to customers to ensure satisfaction and resolve any issues.Act as the liaison between the customer and internal teams during project execution, ensuring the delivery of products and services as per agreed terms.Follow up on customer satisfaction post-installation and address any issues promptly.Sales Targets and Reporting Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets as set by the company.Prepare regular reports on sales activities, pipeline, and performance against targets and to identify and plan performance gaps.Analyze competitor activities and market trends to adjust strategies as needed.Technical Support Understand customer specifications and requirements, providing accurate technical advice and product recommendations.Collaborate with the Technical Solutions Dept. to ensure client needs are met with suitable product solutions.Respond to technical queries and participate in troubleshooting discussions when needed.Perform other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, Certifications Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Electrical, Mechanical Engineer, Marketing or related field.Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
