Description
The Assistant Manager – Projects (HV - Substation) is responsible for supporting the design and execution of high voltage substations (132/33KV, 132/11KV, etc.) infrastructure specific to data center developments. The role ensures the timely and quality delivery of high-reliability power infrastructure, complying with utility regulations, design specifications, Tier standards (Uptime Institute), and data center operational requirements. This position involves close coordination with design consultants, contractors, utility authorities, and internal data center teams.Functional Responsibilities: Assist in designing, reviewing shop drawings, technical submittals, planning, executing, and delivering substation works (e.g., 132/33/11 k V) dedicated to mission-critical data center facilities.Coordinate with engineering, power systems consultants, and utility providers (Middle East, Far East & Europe) to ensure substation integration aligns with data center electrical designs and redundancy requirements (e.g., N-1).Ensure design and execution adhere to project specifications, standards, local utility regulations, Uptime Institute guidelines, and quality benchmarks.Interface with internal data center design, operations, and MEP teams to align substation works with other infrastructure developments.Review project documentation including technical submittals, IFC/as-built drawings, ITPs, inspection logs, and test results.Participate in authority coordination for approvals, energization, and compliance inspections.Identify and resolve technical issues in coordination with engineering consultants and contractors.Support commissioning, testing, and handover phases to ensure electrical infrastructure readiness for data center operations.Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or equivalent.10–12 years of design (SLD, layout, calculations) and execution experience in high-voltage substation projects, preferably including data centers or mission-critical facilities.Experience with HV substation construction, including MEP, civil, structural works, and familiarity with utility regulations (DEWA, SEWA, ADDC).Proven ability to manage construction interfaces within complex infrastructure programs.Proficient in project scheduling and controls software.Deep understanding of power distribution systems, grid interconnection, transmission, and underground cabling.Experience with EDMS or similar software platforms, reporting tools, and documentation protocols.Proficient in Auto CAD and Microsoft Office Suite.Familiarity with HSE and QA/QC procedures in high-risk environments.Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Full-time Job function Design, Information Technology, and Consulting Industries Information Technology & Services, Design Services, IT Services and IT Consulting This job posting is active.
