Structural Engineer

Responsible to the Head of the Civil and Structural Department within a multi-discipline design office, the position involves working together with senior design engineers and CAD operators on structural analysis and design for low, medium and high rise buildings and other structures from concept stage to issuing of construction documents. Responsibilities include: Computer modeling of structures Preparing design calculations, specifications, and outline drawings directly on Autocad Supervising and checking the work of CAD operators Coordination with other design disciplines Suitable candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and have 4 to 8 years experience in the design of building structures, some of which should preferably have been gained in the Middle East.A thorough knowledge of structural systems, design methods and materials together with experience in analysis and design of structural frames and foundations is essential. Candidates must be conversant with appropriate international codes of practice for structural analysis and design and be familiar with proprietary structural design software, including ETABS, SAFE and SAP.A high level of computer literacy and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel are important and the ability to prepare drawings using Autocad would be a significant advantage. #J-18808-Ljbffr
