Pharmacist 1-Inpatient Pharmacy

JOB DESCRIPTIONPharmacists provide pharmacy services to patients and healthcare providers. They verify medication orders, fill prescriptions, compound medications, dispense pharmaceuticals, and counsel patients on the appropriate use of medications.Pharmacists train and supervise trainees, new staff, and technicians, perform routine quality control testing, and maintain all records required by federal and local regulations.Responsibilities Comply with all regulatory, safety, and quality control programs and procedures, including licensing, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.Promote the safe, appropriate, and cost-effective use of medications.Verify medication orders for appropriateness of therapy according to SSMC policies.Review, compound, prepare, and oversee medication compounding.Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective drug treatment.Perform independent double checks on prepared medications.Handle insurance approvals, financial transactions, and payments as assigned.Dispense medications ensuring correct form and dose, and counsel patients on their use.Maintain patient confidentiality and accurate dispensing records.Ensure proper storage of medications, including controlled substances, as per UAE law.Maintain sufficient inventory of medications and supplies.Ensure equipment cleanliness, calibration, and perform checks as required.Respond to incidents such as adverse reactions and medication errors, reporting appropriately.Provide education and training to students, interns, trainees, and healthcare professionals.Participate in department programs, hospital committees, and staff meetings.Engage in research and maintain professional knowledge and certifications.Accountabilities Adhere to punctuality and confidentiality.Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of dispensed medications.Maintain inventory and security of medications and cash.Compliance Guidelines Follow facility policies and regulatory requirements, including licensure and mandatory training.Maintain confidentiality of all information exchanged.Qualifications Experience: At least 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience for inpatient or outpatient pharmacists.UAE National: upon internship completion.Educational Qualification: BSc in Pharmacy from an accredited college; postgraduate qualification preferred.About Us At SSMC, we believe in the human touch as a vital part of care.
