OFFSHORE INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation Engineer (Offshore) to join our engineering team in Abu Dhabi, supporting the design and execution of a major offshore oil and gas project in the Middle East. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the detailed engineering and design development of offshore instrumentation systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and client requirements.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead and execute detailed engineering for offshore instrumentation systems including control systems, field instrumentation, and communication networks.Prepare and review instrument datasheets, specifications, loop diagrams, cable schedules, I/O lists, and installation drawings.Conduct technical evaluations and provide recommendations for vendor equipment and instrumentation packages.Interface with multidisciplinary teams (Process, Electrical, Mechanical, and Piping) to ensure integrated design solutions.Participate in design reviews, HAZOP, SIL, and constructability assessments.Support procurement activities by preparing Material Requisitions (MR), Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), and vendor document reviews.Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and start-up phases.Ensure all instrumentation design work complies with international codes (e.g., IEC, ISA, API), client specifications, and local regulations.Work closely with offshore site teams and provide engineering support for field modifications and redlining.KEY QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Minimum 10 years of experience in instrumentation engineering within the oil & gas industry, with at least 5 years in offshore projects.Proven experience in detailed engineering design for offshore platforms or FPSOs.Proficiency with design tools such as SPI (Smart Plant Instrumentation), In Tools, and Auto CAD.Strong knowledge of hazardous area classification, intrinsically safe systems, and offshore standards.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.Chartered Engineer status or membership with a recognized engineering institution.Familiarity with Middle Eastern offshore regulations and ADNOC standards.Experience with brownfield modifications and revamp projects.Vertical Company Industry IT - Software Services Department / Functional Area Keywords OFFSHORE INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEERDisclaimer: Naukrigulf.com is only a platform to bring jobseekers & employers together.
