We’ve got what you’re looking for.Job Description: Assistant Resident Engineer Structural (Bridges/Underpasses) - Operation & Maintenance Abu Dhabi Parsons is looking for a talented Assistant Resident Engineer Structural (Bridges & Underpasses) to join our Operations & Maintenance team in Abu Dhabi. In this role, you will provide on-site guidance for structural works.What You'll Be Doing: Ensure all plans are approved as per procedures and DOA matrix.Monitor progress and identify potential issues impacting timelines or quality.Monitor project-related progress of work.Follow up on the closure of all completed projects.Review draft variation orders before submission to the governance team.Review draft work orders before submission to the governance team.Monitor tendering plans and report progress.Participate in tender evaluations for all tenders in the technical departments.Design and construct structures that are safe, withstand environmental elements, and improve existing structural integrity.Assist the resident engineer in issuing site instructions (SOR/NCR) related to civil and structural works.Serve as the job originator for ADM related to structural works.Lead and review design calculations and bridge designs using CAD software, adhering to standards like AASHTO LRFD.Review non-standard structure details for complex structures including highway and railroad bridges.Review and act upon contractor submittals such as shop drawings, technical submittals, test reports, progress reports, method statements, transmittals, post-tensioning reports, materials submittals, elongation calculations, and RFIs.Prepare contract bid documents, including final plans, specifications, and cost estimates for structural work orders.Visit project sites for bridge inspections, condition verification during maintenance, and construction support.Coordinate with other transportation disciplines like design, survey, roadway, drainage, and planning.Prepare technical and cost proposals.Conduct continuous site inspections and issue remedial notes for observed defects (Site Memo or NCR).Mentor junior engineers and inspectors.Develop construction plans, cost estimates, specifications, and bid documents.What Required Skills You'll Bring: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.An equivalency certificate from the UAE Ministry of Education clearly stating the degree.Minimum 10 years' experience in maintenance of structures (bridges & underpasses), specifically in the UAE.Strong knowledge of contractual relationships.Proficiency with computer technology for data access, record-keeping, and report generation.Parsons values diversity and equal opportunity at all job levels, regardless of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age, disability, or genetic information.We invest in our employees' wellbeing and offer endless growth opportunities.
