About the role At KASO, our Software Engineers are the backbone of our tech-driven revolution in the F&B industry. We're seeking a talented Backend Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development and maintenance of our core software applications. You'll work collaboratively with designers, product managers, and other engineers to build innovative solutions that transform the way restaurants and suppliers operate.Technical Craftsmanship: Apply basic XP and Continuous Delivery practices, including Co-Creation, Small Slices, Test First, Continuous Refactoring, Trunk Based Development, and Simple Design.Contribute to solving engineering problems with the help and guidance of more senior team members.Demonstrate eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.Begin identifying systems and practices problems and work on solving them with guidance.Design, develop, and maintain robust RESTful APIs to power our frontend applications and integrate with third-party systems.Implement efficient database schemas and queries using technologies like SQL or No SQL to store and retrieve critical data.Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable and resilient backend systems to handle growing workloads.Identify and optimize performance bottlenecks to ensure optimal system performance and responsiveness.Collaboration, Working with Others, & Mentorship: Actively participate in team activities, discussions, and decision-making processes.Seek and accept guidance from more experienced team members.Communicate ideas clearly and ask good clarifying questions.Start providing mentorship to beginners and sharing knowledge effectively.Customer Obsession and Innovation (Product Centricity): Understand the basic principles of customer-focused development.Actively seek to understand customer needs and feedback.Demonstrate curiosity about the product and its impact on users.Begin integrating customer feedback into development processes effectively.Your profile Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Understanding of XP practices and a basic grasp of Continuous Delivery culture. Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to solve engineering problems with guidance.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.A strong customer-centric mindset and a passion for innovation.
