Path 2: Postdoctoral Associate - The Smart Materials Lab, Engineering Division

The Smart Materials Lab (SML) and the Center for Smart Engineering Materials (CSEM), New York University Abu Dhabi, seek to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate in the field of materials for petroleum applications.The position includes: Submission of biweekly and other reports Assistance with grant applications Practical training for laboratory equipment use Regular attendance at SML and CSEM group meetings The applicant should be a chemist, chemical analyst, chemical engineer, or materials scientist with academic or industrial experience in chemistry or chemical engineering related to oil and gas. Familiarity with chemical and physical methods for characterizing organic materials or other materials is required. The candidate is expected to collaborate with SML and CSEM members to employ physical, chemical, and other methods for reliable and accurate material characterization, both in applied and fundamental research contexts.Responsibilities also include supervising and training researchers, students, and others in analytical, physicochemical, spectroscopic, microscopic, mechanical, and other characterization methods.
