Job Details Print Job Details Download as PDFKey Relationships Internal: Service Admin, Service Manager, Operations Manager and Managing Director (if necessary)External: Clients / customers, Site Project Managers (if necessary)Accountabilities Lead in equipment installation, maintenance and repairs Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks Troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment malfunctions Duties and Responsibilities Comply with Primepower servicing schedules and procedures Ensure all equipment is prepared for hire in compliance with Primepower 'Green Card' procedure Ensure all work performed reports are approved by client (on site) and are legibly produced Ensure immediate response and minimal disruption to client's requirements Ensure good housekeeping of work area and service vehicle Maintain a minimum spares level in service vehicle as per procedures Effective troubleshooting to minimise downtime and unnecessary repair costs Customer satisfaction externally & internally Compliance to QHSE & ISO Standards and Procedures Compliance with 24 hour call - out policy Primepower places a strong emphasis on health, operational safety and environmental protection. It is a requirement and moral obligation of each employee to be actively committed and accountable for compliance to the Primepower Health, Safety & Environmental policies, operating procedures and compliance to local legislation Any other tasks, duties & responsibilities that may be added from time to time as relevant to business requirements Skills Desired Skills Able to work the hours required to enhance the service division operations Ideally have a recognized qualification in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering Be computer Literate Good command of English language, spoken and written Good Communication skills Ability to work in a team environment Able to work on own initiative and under pressure Able to work to strict timeframes and achieve results Must be able to work to written procedures and comply with company policies Desired Behaviors Drive for results - a deep seated inner desire to compete against standards of excellence and achieve "step changes" in business results Task Completion - reliable, committed to completing tasks Resilience - persistent, positive and self-reliant Accountability - drives outcomes by taking personal responsibility Customer Focus - understands the importance of customer needs, whether internal or external, focuses on responding to them and develops relationships Working together with others - relates to people, engages and builds relationships Specialized Training/ Knowledge Required Able to work long hours in demanding conditions under pressure Good command of English language, spoken and written Good Communication skills must be able to complete reports legibly Effective troubleshooting capability Ability to read electrical drawings Possession of driving license essential Capable of basic administration and working to written procedure Qualifications College Degree in in a Mechanical or Electrical field or Industrial Training Institute qualifications Grade 10 or 12 clarification Previous Experience with Cummins/Iveco/Scania Diesel Generator engines Must hold an official Mechanical and Electrical trade qualification from a recognized organization Proficiency with generator controllers including PCC 2100, PCC 3100, PCC 3200, PCC 3300 and DSE 8000 series, with training certificates from courses attended in programming Demonstrated track record in rebuilding Cummins engines, including KTA50, KTA38, KSQ23, QSX15, QSG12, NTA855, QSL9, 6BTA, and 4BTACapability to assess power demand according to production needs Accredited high voltage qualification from a recognized organization Completion of high voltage switching courses Familiarity with the generator load testing process Experience Minimum 5 years of experience relevant role or related field Dealer experience (Cummins and Caterpillar)Previous experience in the rental industry Prior experience working with diesel generator power plants Apply Now
