Chief Sustainability Officer

Job Opportunity The successful candidate will lead the execution of sustainable development and supply chain strategies across all projects, as well as existing portfolios. This includes leading supply chain engagement to find commercially viable carbon solutions to deliver on net zero targets and supporting environmental data collection and assurance for all construction sites.Key Responsibilities Execute the implementation of sustainable development and supply chain strategies and plans.Develop sustainable procurement requirements and integrate them into procurement and tendering processes.Review, develop, and continuously improve policies, standards, guidelines, tools, and systems related to embedding sustainability into construction and supply chain selection, evaluation, and development.Develop low-carbon construction materials and products' market intelligence and understand supplier market economics.Develop a program for supply chain ESG development and deliver it to raise the maturity of contractors and suppliers to achieve mutual sustainability targets.Manage analysis of assurance-ready environmental data from construction sites and propose solutions to various supply chain sustainability issues.Assess the environmental impact of materials and products within the supply chain, considering factors such as carbon footprint, energy consumption, and waste generation.Collaborate with project teams to ensure that sustainable materials are seamlessly integrated into installation and construction operations.Identify potential risks and challenges related to technical viability of sustainable materials and products and develop mitigation strategies to address them.Drive innovation in sustainable supply chains by exploring new technologies, materials, and techniques that align with project specifications and sustainability objectives.Stay informed about regulatory changes and industry trends that may impact the availability or use of green materials.Required Qualifications A minimum of 8+ years of related experience in sustainability/sustainable design and construction in the built environment is required.Field of Expertise Real Estate or Construction Essential Skills Strong understanding of sustainable procurement practices and their application in construction projects.Proficiency in sustainability assessment tools.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Education A Bachelor's degree in a related field, including sustainability, engineering, environment, or a related field.
