Senior HSE Specialist - Underground Utilities Project

We are seeking a seasoned Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Specialist to join our project team in Abu Dhabi for a 6-month contract on an underground utilities infrastructure and roads project. The ideal candidate will have over 6 years of experience in HSE roles, with at least 3 years in the UAE, specifically in construction or infrastructure projects.The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, conducting daily site inspections, and identifying potential hazards. They will also perform risk assessments, investigate accidents, and monitor environmental risks. Additionally, they will provide training and awareness programs for site personnel, ensure emergency response plans are established, and conduct regular internal audits to identify areas for improvement.Responsibilities Safety Inspections: Conduct daily site inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, and identify potential hazards.Risk Assessment: Perform risk assessments and verify that all high-risk activities have appropriate mitigation measures and safe work procedures in place.Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.Compliance Monitoring: Monitor and enforce compliance with local and international HSE standards, including UAE regulations and project-specific guidelines.Training & Awareness: Provide safety inductions for new workers and refresher training programs to maintain continuous awareness among all site personnel.Emergency Procedures: Ensure emergency response plans are established, and all workers are familiar with evacuation, fire, first aid, and related protocols.Required Skills and Qualifications Education: Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.Experience: Over 6 years of experience in HSE roles, with at least 3 years in the UAE, specifically in construction, infrastructure, or underground utilities projects.Knowledge: Strong understanding of UAE HSE regulations, construction safety standards, and environmental policies.Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.Benefits Opportunity to work on a large-scale infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi.Chance to develop your career in HSE and contribute to a safe working environment.
