Electrical Engineer Position - Yas Island
Description
Job Title: Electrician We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team in Abu Dhabi.The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of electrical infrastructure across Yas Island, including 11k V substations, RMUs, feeder panels, transformers, SCADA, protection relays, streetlighting, and LV/MV networks.Key Responsibilities: Perform O&M activities for electrical systems such as transformers, splice switches, RMUs, feeder panels, ACBs, VCBs, SCADA terminals, and lighting assets.Conduct technical rounds, inspections, and log asset performance in CMMS.Execute planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and attend reactive/corrective breakdowns.Participate in emergency and contingency responses related to electrical faults.Maintain compliance with electrical design, operational manuals, and approved switching procedures.Escalate faults, defects, and near misses as per site escalation protocols.Ensure compliance with QHSE standards, risk assessments, and use of PPE.Guide junior technicians in safety and best practices.Interface with other departments during cross-functional troubleshooting.Perform energy metering, lighting control, earthing verification, and cable routing inspections.Requirements Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent trade.Certifications: Basic Electrical Safety, Lockout Tagout (LOTO), Work at Height, First Aid, SCADA & Substation Safety.Ability to read electrical drawings and interpret SCADA data.Proficient in the use of electrical test tools (multimeter, megger, etc.).Familiarity with protection relays, feeder automation, and cable terminations.Ability to work safely around energized equipment.Strong reporting, escalation, and troubleshooting ability.Knowledge of local and international electrical standards (DEWA/ADDC/IEC/BS).Apart from having an expertise in the field, you should have good communication skills and teamwork spirit.Benefits Professional growth opportunities.A supportive and inclusive workplace culture.
