Recruitment Strategy & Market Insights We are looking to hire a Analyst - Database Administrator (Postgre SQL) who will be responsible in supporting the migration of operational application databases from propriety systems to open-source platforms for our client that is based Dubai - which is one of the world's leading semi government organization.This position is a contract role with an initial duration of 5 months and is renewable.The role involves assisting in the evaluation, planning, and execution of migration activities aimed at reducing the total cost of ownership and dependency on proprietary technologies. The analyst will also handle business-as-usual (BAU) tasks, including routine maintenance, system performance analysis, application support, and coordinating upgrades or release requests from business units Key responsibilities: Execute migration of Oracle and SQL Server databases to Postgre SQL and My SQL environments.Optimize database stability and performance throughout the migration lifecycle.Ensure all migration activities comply with the Change Advisory Board (CAB) process, coordinating pre-production and production releases.Implement and enforce the principle of least privilege across all database users and roles.Configure and enable Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) with minimal impact on production environments.Establish and maintain secure SSH connections between databases and applications.Design, configure, and monitor data replication processes to serve multiple business units effectively.Maintain data quality and integrity across replicated databases through regular validation and troubleshooting.Conduct daily operational health checks to ensure optimal database performance.Provide timely business and application support to resolve database-related issues.Perform patching and minor version upgrades while minimizing system downtime.Document all database activities, procedures, and incidents comprehensively using Microsoft One Note.5-7 years in similar role Experienced in managing and supporting Postgre SQL (version 14 and above) on both Linux and Windows platform.Proficient in administering Mongo DB version 6.0 and above on Linux systems Scripting: Bash, Power Shell, and Python Postgre SQL EDB (version 12 and above)Postgre SQL Enterprise Manager (PEM) for performance monitoring•Database clustering and replication technologies, including Citus Data and EDB Enterprise Failover Manager (EFM)Microsoft Office Suite Availability: Preference will be given to candidates available immediately We are looking for a candidate who will be able to work in United Arab Emirates.
