Expires in 2 months GEMS Founders School (GFA) is seeking a dedicated, full-time Health and Safety Officer (HSO) to oversee and implement health and safety policies within the school.Key Responsibilities: Compliance and Regulation: Ensure adherence to all relevant health and safety laws and regulations. Keep updated on legislative changes and implement necessary updates.Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify hazards. Implement measures to mitigate risks promptly.Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans for scenarios such as fires and natural disasters. Conduct regular drills to familiarize staff and students with procedures.Training and Education: Provide training on health and safety practices, including first aid, emergency response, and safety equipment use. Ensure training is current and relevant.Incident Investigation and Reporting: Investigate accidents and incidents, document findings, and report to authorities. Analyze trends and recommend preventative actions.Facility Inspection and Maintenance: Regularly inspect school facilities to ensure compliance with safety standards. Address issues related to cleanliness, maintenance, and hazards.This role is essential in fostering a safety culture and ensuring compliance with GEMS policies and ADEK standards.Skills and Qualifications: Main Qualification: QFE 7 (Bachelor's Degree in Health & Safety) OR Bachelor's Degree in another subject with NEBOSH certification.Additional Qualifications: Courses in Incident Investigation & Reporting, Accredited First Aider & Fire Fighter, Knowledge of ADPHC's electronic OSH reporting system.Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Health & Safety roles.GEMS Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students and staff.
