Health and Safety Specialist

Job Title: Health and Safety Officer We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Officer to join our team.A health and safety officer with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role will be responsible for ensuring that our school maintains the highest standards of health and safety.The ideal candidate will have a degree in health and safety or a related field and will be certified in first aid and fire fighting. Additionally, they will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.The successful candidate will be based in Abu Dhabi and will be responsible for conducting regular risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify hazards and implement measures to mitigate risks.In this role, you will also be responsible for developing and maintaining emergency response plans for scenarios such as fires and natural disasters.You will provide training on health and safety practices, including first aid, emergency response, and safety equipment use.The role is essential in fostering a safety culture and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.Key Responsibilities: Ensure adherence to all relevant health and safety laws and regulations.Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify hazards and implement measures to mitigate risks.Develop and maintain emergency response plans for scenarios such as fires and natural disasters.Provide training on health and safety practices.Investigate accidents and incidents, document findings, and report to authorities.Regularly inspect school facilities to ensure compliance with safety standards.Required Skills and Qualifications: Main Qualification: QFE 7 (Bachelor's Degree in Health & Safety) OR Bachelor's Degree in another subject with NEBOSH certification.Additional Qualifications: Courses in Incident Investigation & Reporting, Accredited First Aider & Fire Fighter, Knowledge of ADPHC's electronic OSH reporting system.Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Health & Safety roles.Benefits: This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a sustainable urban community and contribute to the development of a net-zero campus.Sustainability: GEMS Founders School features a net-zero campus designed with eco-friendly materials and innovative architecture, exemplifying high standards in sustainability practices.),
