Game Design Mentor Role We are seeking a skilled Game Design Mentor to join our team and help bring the visions of aspiring game creators to life.The Game Design Mentor will function as a 'player-coach' across a portfolio of game projects being developed by members of our community. By working with university students, high school students, and other aspiring game creators to design game narratives, mechanics, and user experiences, you will help them understand the intricacies of game design and foster a robust game conceptualization process.Mentoring aspiring game creators in the art of game design, modeling effective design practice, leadership, and collaboration;Contributing to game projects by crafting game narratives and designing game mechanics;Coordinating the design efforts of both participants and staff on collaborative projects;Evaluating design concepts, level designs, prototypes, and user experiences and making decisions on how to approach projects;Providing feedback and coaching on game design work and developmental progress;Developing learning content in our design learning pathway;Establishing design standards and procedures for game projects;Troubleshooting challenges and conflicts as they arise;Communicating effectively with development teams and domain experts;Contribute to an exciting, innovative, and supportive work environment.The ideal candidate will have a background in coaching, training, mentoring or teaching, and experience with design tools and software. They should be able to communicate effectively with engineers, producers, artists, and other game-making professionals.We value diverse perspectives and voices on our teams.
