About the Role The position of Librarian at our esteemed institution is a unique opportunity to shape the learning experience of students. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and be able to maintain a well-organized library environment.Key Responsibilities Develop engaging information literacy sessions for students, empowering them to find resources independently.Select and order books that cater to diverse student interests and grade levels, aligning with curriculum requirements.Liaise with teachers to ensure timely distribution of topic-related resources to classrooms.Maintain accurate records in the automated library system, utilizing the Dewey Decimal Classification system.Catalog all resources, ensuring up-to-date records of students and teachers.Effectively manage overdue books, handle lost or damaged items, and oversee repairs.Create an inviting library atmosphere conducive to reading and independent study.Promote reading through displays, recommend new releases, and foster a love for literature.Arrange author visits and organize book fairs with local vendors.Manage the school's Book Club, including ordering, consolidating, and distributing books.Handle book sign-in/out and shelving procedures.Collaborate with staff and respond to related inquiries.Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and school policies.Assist in developing policies and procedures.Participate in relevant training sessions.Perform other duties as reasonably assigned.We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff are expected to share this commitment.Requirements Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Library Studies or Information Science.1–2 years of experience as a Librarian.Fluent in English, both written and spoken.Arabic language skills are preferred.Strong interpersonal skills for interaction with a diverse community.Excellent office management skills.
