These include notable home-grown brands such as Sun & Sand Sports, Dropkick, Supercare Pharmacy, Farm Fresh, Klassic, and international brands like Nike, Columbia, Converse, Timberland, Vans, Mama Sita's, and Mc Cain.What you'll be doing: The role holder is responsible for managing IT, General Procurement, and contracting activities for GMG in a transparent, timely, and cost-efficient manner. The role also involves managing the Group's contractors and suppliers through prequalification, tendering, contracting, and regular monitoring, as well as developing guidelines that govern these processes.Core Responsibilities: Assist in developing the Departments policies, standards, rules, and procedures for cost-effective procurement operations for materials, goods, and services.Supervise procurement and contract management activities guided by GMG group policies, procedures, and processes, implementing improvements as needed.Oversee physical verification and reconciliation of stock monthly, ensuring compliance with the Group's cost criteria.Maintain controls and manage consumption patterns, costs, and inventory carrying costs to establish inventory controls and monitor storage costs.Manage the competitive bidding process, including generating RFPs/RFQs, receiving, opening, evaluating bids, and safeguarding received bids.Monitor contract progress and payment status, providing appropriate project contract reporting.Develop supplier sourcing strategies in consultation with stakeholders to optimize cost and quality.Negotiate with vendors/suppliers on prices, credit terms, and other contractual conditions with relevant departments.People Management: Ensure the development and maintenance of a vendor management system with comprehensive contractor information.Collaborate with the Finance Department/Project Finance team on procurement funding requirements.Stay updated on professional developments, new techniques, and current issues through ongoing education.Manage the archiving of all Procurement Department documentation, including RFI, RFQ/RFP, proposals, quotations, QCS, and other related documents, ensuring they are current and audit-ready.Seniority level Entry level Employment type Full-time Job function Strategy/Planning and Purchasing Industries Retail#J-18808-Ljbffr
