Get AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.Job Purpose The Senior Bid Manager is responsible for leading and managing the end-to-end bid process for strategic and high-value facility management opportunities. This role ensures the timely development of compliant, compelling, and commercially sound proposals that align with the company's growth objectives and client requirements.Working closely with cross-functional teams—including business development, operations, finance, procurement, legal, and technical services—the Senior Bid Manager oversees the preparation, review, and submission of RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs. The role plays a critical part in developing win strategies, ensuring bid governance, managing stakeholder expectations, and driving continuous improvement in the bidding process to enhance win rates and strengthen the company's competitive positioning in the FM industry.Roles, Responsibilities and Duties: Lead End-to-End Bid Process Oversee the full bid lifecycle, from opportunity identification and pre-qualification through to submission, negotiation, and post-bid clarifications.Develop Winning Strategies Formulate and drive win strategies, value propositions, and competitive differentiators aligned with client needs and business capabilities.Lead Generation Own and manage relationships with clients to generate new business leads and market opportunities.Stakeholder Coordination Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Operations, Commercial, Procurement, Finance, HR, and Legal—to gather inputs and ensure the bid meets technical, commercial, and compliance standards.Bid Planning & Scheduling Create and manage bid timelines, resource plans, and deliverable schedules to ensure all submissions are completed accurately and on time.Proposal Development Prepare high-quality technical, financial, and commercial proposals tailored to RFP/RFQ/RFI requirements.Content Management Maintain a central library of pre-approved content, case studies, CVs, capability statements, and templates for efficient bid development.Risk & Compliance Review Assess bid risks and ensure all proposals adhere to company governance, client-specific regulations, and legal requirements.Client Engagement Act as a liaison with clients during the bid process to clarify requirements, respond to inquiries, and ensure mutual understanding of scope and deliverables.Presentation & Pitch Support Support or lead client presentations, clarifications, and interviews as part of the post-submission evaluation process.Post-Bid Analysis & Reporting Conduct win/loss reviews and lessons-learned sessions, capturing feedback and continuously improving future bid strategies and quality.Lead and mentor junior bid writers, coordinators, and contributors to ensure consistency, quality, and professional growth.Conduct ongoing analysis of FM market trends, competitor offerings, and pricing strategies to refine positioning in future bids.Collaborate with Business Development to monitor and manage bid pipeline activities, track performance metrics, and support strategic pursuits.Drive continuous improvement by introducing best practices, automation tools, and innovative approaches to enhance bid efficiency and success rates.Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Engineering, Facilities Management, Marketing, Commerce, or a related discipline is required.A Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) in Business, Strategic Management, or a relevant field is highly desirable and considered an added advantage.Experience: 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in bid/proposal management, tendering, or business development within the Facility Management, engineering, or construction services sector.Minimum of 3 to 5 years in a leadership or senior bid management role, preferably within the UAE or GCC markets Strategic & Commercial Acumen Strong understanding of FM industry dynamics, including hard and soft services, manpower outsourcing, and asset lifecycle management.Ability to develop and execute winning bid strategies aligned with client requirements and company capabilities Expertise in analyzing RFPs/RFQs/RFIs, interpreting scope requirements, and building value-based proposals.Commercial awareness with experience in pricing strategies, contract risk analysis, and value engineering.Project & Bid Management Advanced project management skills, with the ability to lead bid processes under tight deadlines and complex conditions.Proficiency in managing cross-functional teams, timelines, deliverables, and internal stakeholder alignment.Strong organizational skills in managing multiple bids simultaneously with attention to detail and process discipline.Proposal Development & Writing Excellent technical and commercial writing skills, with the ability to create compelling, client-focused content.Strong command of English grammar, structure, and tone for formal documentation and presentations.Ability to develop executive summaries, technical methodologies, staffing plans, and capability statements.Effective leadership and team management, capable of motivating contributors across departments.Confident communicator with the ability to work with senior stakeholders including operations heads, finance directors, and C-suite.Skilled at stakeholder engagement to gather content, clarify scope, and resolve bid-related conflicts.Analytical & Reporting Abilities Ability to analyze client requirements, evaluation criteria, and competitor positioning to tailor winning proposals.Strong in conducting post-bid evaluations, win/loss analyses, and driving continuous improvement.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word, Excel, Power Point), and document formatting best practices.Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics) and bid management tools like Qvidian, RFPIO, or similar.Comfortable using project management tools (e.g., Trello, Asana, Smartsheet) to track bid progress and task assignments Knowledge of Local & International Procurement Well-versed in UAE/GCC tendering regulations, government procurement portals, and compliance protocols.Awareness of international FM standards (e.g., ISO 41001, IFMA, BICSc) and their integration into proposal responses.Detail-oriented, with high levels of accuracy in documentation.Resilient and proactive, with the ability to manage pressure and shifting priorities.Client-focused mindset, with a commitment to service excellence and long-term relationship
