Job Purpose: The SEN Coordinator has the overall responsibility for ensuring appropriate quality provision, attainment, and progress for students identified as having Special Educational Needs (SEN), English as an Additional Language (EAL), and Gifted and Talented (G&T). The SEN Coordinator is also responsible for communicating and engaging with parents and a variety of external student support services to ensure that all students have access to appropriate interventions and learning strategies to meet their individual needs. Key Accountabilities: Create and maintain a register of all students with specific educational needs requiring support. Create, monitor, and review the effectiveness of SEN policies and procedures. Oversee the day-to-day operation of the school's SEN policies. Manage budgets effectively and prioritize resources. Track the progress and development of targeted students in conjunction with class/subject teachers and team leaders. Collect data and analyze student results. Support the identification of student needs, including conducting individual assessments as needed. Support and review the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) as appropriate. Design and coordinate interventions, ensuring effective implementation of programs for students. Identify barriers to learning and share strategies with staff. Mentor and induct new staff within the team. Line manage and monitor the performance of ILSAs in school. Report to and meet with teachers and parents as appropriate. Provide training and coaching to classroom LAs to enhance their skills in supporting students, narrowing gaps, and accelerating learning. Maintain high levels of communication with all relevant parties. Create and maintain a register of students with extra time exam/assessment accommodations. Ensure examination and assessment provisions and accommodations are in place for students with phase coordinators and subject leaders. Delegate responsibilities where appropriate. Attend parent/teacher meetings and events. Develop strategies to efficiently assist targeted students. Assist with enrollment, admissions, and assessments as needed. Manage resources effectively. Conduct and report on student observations and lesson observations to support teacher development. Implement screening and diagnostic procedures to identify learning needs. Manage staff performance with a focus on differentiation to impact teaching quality. Act on Records of Concern when necessary. Lead weekly meetings with Student Support staff. Ensure regular meetings with Heads of Section and parents, with appropriate transparency. Prepare reports for various circumstances, such as DSIB, SEF, and quarterly reports. Participate in SLT meetings to provide updates and guidance. Develop and manage relationships with external agencies, e.g., child psychology services. Share critical actions for students with staff and provide necessary professional development. Foster professional sharing and development opportunities across Taaleem. #J-18808-Ljbffr
