Job Description The Campus Security Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring a secure and well-structured campus environment. This position is responsible for enforcing policies related to security, student conduct, and safety, taking a proactive approach to risk management and incident prevention.This role includes oversight of campus infrastructure, assets, and personal safety, ensuring compliance with security and discipline guidelines.Strategic Security Management: Oversee and implement a comprehensive campus security plan in partnership with external security contractors, aligning with strategic objectives.Incident Investigation and Prevention: Lead investigations of all incidents, documenting findings, and recommending preventive measures to reduce future risks.Risk Assessment: Continuously assess potential security threats and vulnerabilities on campus, proactively initiating corrective actions to mitigate risks.Orientation and Training: Provide orientation to new students and staff on security policies, fostering a culture of awareness and compliance with safety protocols.Operational Oversight: Establish and enforce operational procedures for security personnel, ensuring adherence to guidelines for campus access, including monitoring of students, staff, visitors, and contractors.Emergency Response Leadership: Act as the primary point of contact for security incidents and provide immediate response and coordination during emergencies.Record Management: Ensure the accurate recording and maintenance of all security-related documentation, including incident reports, visitor logs, and security audits.Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with campus staff, students, and external contractors to ensure swift resolution of security-related issues, maintaining a professional and timely service.Cultural Sensitivity and Awareness: Promote respect for diverse cultural backgrounds of students and employees, integrating awareness into security practices.Continuous Improvement: Participate in initiatives, community events, and workshops, contributing to the continuous improvement of campus security policies and practices.Requirements A high school diploma or equivalent qualification A minimum of 3 years of experience in security, preferably in a campus or institutional setting Strategic Vigilance: Ability to detect, assess, and respond to potential security threats with a strategic mindset.Physical Readiness: Strong physical fitness to handle patrols, emergencies, and rapid response situations effectively.Analytical Problem-Solving: Adept at evaluating risks and implementing solutions to enhance campus security.Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to facilitate clear reporting and collaboration.Legal Compliance: Knowledge of local laws and security regulations relevant to a campus environment.Technology Proficiency: Competency with security systems, surveillance technology, and digital reporting tools.Crisis Management: Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure and manage emergency situations with composure.Customer Service: Ability to engage professionally with students, staff, and visitors, fostering a secure and welcoming environment.Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying current with security best practices, technologies, and policies.
