This diverse and talented team enables us to deliver comprehensive and integrated solutions.Skills Description Monitor and assess hazardous situations on-site.Maintain awareness of active and developing situations.Investigate accidents occurring within the incident area.Conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).Inspect the site to ensure it is hazard-free.Respond to employees' safety concerns and address unsafe acts.Safety Planning & Implementation Develop measures to ensure personnel safety.Ensure the preparation and implementation of the Site Safety & Health Plan (SSHP).Participate in planning meetings to identify health and safety concerns.Review incident action plans for safety implications.Establish and enforce safety standards and policies.Exercise emergency authority to prevent or stop unsafe acts.Investigate all accidents and near misses to determine causes.Record incidents and handle workers' compensation claims.Report to authorities as required by regulations.Prepare reports on safety occurrences and provide statistical data to management.Training, Drills, and Safety Awareness Promote safe practices and enforce safety guidelines.Conduct toolbox talks and safety training sessions.Carry out emergency drills and exercises.Organize OHS training for employees and executives.Advise on safety-related topics.Compliance & Documentation Review and approve subcontractor safety plans.Ensure injury logs and reports are submitted to authorities.Verify the safety of tools and equipment.Coordinate hazardous waste registration and removal.Arrange for OSHA-mandated testing or evaluations.Risk Management & Continuous Improvement Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventive measures.Update safety policies according to legislation.Support development of OHS policies and programs.Ensure safe handling of substances and disposal procedures.Serve as liaison between agencies and contractors.Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.Certifications: Professional accreditation in Occupational Health and Safety.IOSH and NEBOSH certifications.Fire Warden Certification.First Aider Certification.Specific Skills Required Excellent knowledge of industry practices and SH&E management systems.Up-to-date knowledge of Safety, Health, and Environment issues in the Middle East.Strong numerical and literacy skills in English.Experience Minimum of 7 years in the construction SH&E field.Experience in the Middle East preferred.Relevant experience in infrastructure and mixed-use projects.Familiarity with utilities and related works required.Job Responsibilities The Health and Safety Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe, hazard-free work environment by implementing safety protocols, monitoring hazards, conducting training, and addressing safety concerns.
