High School SEND Teacher - American Curriculum August 2025Job Overview SRS is an outstanding BSO-approved international school that provides high-quality education, meeting the needs of a diverse student body. We deliver the British National and American Curriculum to over 4000 students from FS to Year 13, leading to GCSE, IGCSE, and AS/A2 qualifications.We are seeking an Alternative Provision/SEND teacher to create and deliver engaging learning experiences for our students. You will set high expectations within our Personalised Learning Centre, a bespoke classroom environment within our mainstream school, fostering an environment where children can thrive and learn at their own pace. The successful candidate will promote inclusive education, support students on tailored pathways such as ASDAN, and have expertise in supporting students with SEND.Ideal candidates must: Hold a bachelor's degree, preferably in Special Needs Education Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent Have at least 2 years of classroom experience with students with special needs (ASD/SEMH)Experience with alternative provision is desirable Be able to adapt curricula to individual needs Deliver creative and engaging learning activities Contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills Understand how to support students with complex needs Support children with social, emotional, and communication challenges Have a strong understanding of the National Curriculum and a hands-on, functional teaching approach Be committed to inclusive education tailored to each child Assess pupils and track their progress Collaborate with therapists and team members to set IEP goals that promote inclusion Stay updated on inclusive teaching strategies and resources Liaise with teachers, the Head of Inclusion, SENCO, and parents to support best practices Motivate and engage children and colleagues Challenge and improve performance with a positive attitude Demonstrate a proactive, 'Can do' attitude Show a passion for ongoing research and development in SEND and inclusive education We offer the opportunity to work in a modern, spacious school with advanced technology, supportive colleagues, and enthusiastic students.
