Safety Coordinator

Job Responsibilities Serve as the focal point within the Department for all relevant Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) issues.Communicate OH&S matters from Management through the department's communication channels.Assist in promoting safe working practices and OH&S awareness within the department.Coordinate monthly safety video presentations and promote Safety Alerts from the Health & Safety Department.Participate in regular safety toolbox talks and ensure workforce understanding of safety topics.Conduct routine inspections in Mobile plant work areas, address unsafe acts or conditions, and coordinate with supervisors to ensure safety compliance.Act as emergency coordinator/fire warden during fire, emergency, or drill until the designated emergency controller arrives.Participate in accident investigations as required.Maintain good relationships with workers, foremen, supervisors, and management.Attend necessary training activities for the department.Maintain good housekeeping in all work areas.Follow daily operational procedures to ensure work continuity.Knowledge of Mobile plant operations is an added advantage.Proficient in MS Office applications and able to read and understand technical drawings.Apply appropriate engineering principles, techniques, and procedures.Desired Candidate Profile Certificate or Diploma in HSE or Mechanical Engineering (advantageous).Vocational or Shipyard training.2-5 years of experience as a Safety Steward or in a similar role.Disclaimer: Naukrigulf.com is a platform connecting jobseekers and employers.
