Senior Specialist - Procurement Overview This role involves developing and implementing procurement strategies, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies. The Senior Specialist will also lead and mentor other procurement team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.Responsibilities The main function of the role is to manage procurement support functions, ensuring high-quality services in effectiveness, efficiency, and value, while providing a proactive, professional service to support business objectives across the group.Liaise with stakeholders to develop, promote, and embed procurement and supply chain management tools that drive best practices, recognizing local variances.Apply a creative and proactive approach to managing organizational expenditure, developing strategic relationships, and delivering value for money, minimizing risk, and enhancing the company's brand.Manage the company's supply portfolio with transparency of spending.Generate and implement sourcing and category management strategies.Act as an interface between suppliers and internal departments for purchasing processes and projects.Analyze costs, negotiate contracts, and seek business savings through best practices.Build and maintain supplier relationships with effective communication.Ensure professional and consistent interactions with suppliers.Collaborate with stakeholders to agree on terms and processes.Research shifts in supplier negotiating power and perform cost analysis, benchmarking, and risk assessments.Partner with trustworthy vendors and determine delivery quantities and timings.Assist in designing the ERP system for procurement.Build relationships with internal and external customers and ensure compliance with procurement policies.Qualifications Relevant business, commercial, manufacturing, or engineering degree preferred.Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or similar qualification, or studying towards CIPS, would be beneficial.Experience in purchasing, preferably within technology or distribution sectors.Strong knowledge of negotiation, cost management, and supply chain processes.Experience working with suppliers and adding value through cost reductions and improvements.Understanding of distribution processes is advantageous.Advanced Excel skills and computer literacy.#J-18808-Ljbffr
