Data Center Operations is a fast-paced and dynamic field that requires strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality services. As a Data Center Operations Manager at Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will be responsible for ensuring the overall availability and reliability of our data center operations, meeting or exceeding defined service levels.The ideal candidate will have experience in people management, with a strong technical understanding and the drive to take AWS Data Center Operations to the next level. They will be responsible for leading teams of data center operation professionals, prioritizing and assigning trouble tickets, managing performance metrics, and developing career paths for employees.Some key responsibilities of this role include: Prioritizing and assigning trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators Managing the performance of a diverse team(s) of data center operation professionals with varying skills across different locations Developing Career Paths for the employees and making updates in our internal tools Recruiting and training data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels Ensuring effective and efficient management of day-to-day data center operations including queue management, 7/24 shift arrangement, and hardware logistics Fast learning or acting as the subject matter expert across all aspects in data center operations Ensuring all operational KPIs and metrics are being measured and met Inspiring and guiding improvement in team process, technology innovation, and automation Managing Large Scale Events (outages) and acting as the call leader Managing and improving work-flows and throughput for data centers operations Recommending, documenting, and overseeing policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and to meet required SLAs Maintaining the on-call schedule coordinating absence and vacations BASIC QUALIFICATIONSA Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of professional or military experience in an IT related field2+ years of experience managing people in a technical environment2+ years of experience with Networking, or Computer hardware BENEFITSAn equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status We value diversity, equity, and inclusion, and strive to create an inclusive workplace culture where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to succeed We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) matching, and paid time off OTHERSWe're continuously raising our performance bar as we strive to become Earth's Best Employer.
