We are currently recruiting and hiring foreign workers for Sous Chef vacancies positions in Canada. The Sous Chef is in charge of food preparation, planning, and directing it to whichever kitchen staff they choose. This can include a significant degree of supervision as the assistant executive chef will help with menu decisions and inventory management while being an influential member of a restaurant. Responsibilities Prepare a variety of dishes at our hot stations that include pizzas, pastas, stir-fry's, grills, entrees Daily set up of food stations; assist and direct staff in the preparation of the meal service Ensure consistent standards and techniques are applied to the preparation and presentation Estimate accurate food consumption for appropriate requisitions and/or food purchase Manage and train kitchen employees; mentor staff development and set achievable goals Maintain all staff training records, shift opening/closing checklists and performance data Assist with ordering, inventory; meet with food and labor cost targets Develop and maintain effective client rapport for mutually advantageous business relationships Full compliance with Operational Excellence fundamentals: handling waste, standard menus, recipes and ingredients through leading customer-driven menus and labor standards. Full knowledge and implementation of the Food Framework. Ensure compliance with SAFE food, occupational and environmental safety policies in all culinary and kitchen operations Follow all applicable policies, rules, and regulations, including but not limited to those relating to safety, health, wages, and hours Job details Seniority level: Mid-Senior level Employment type: Temporary Job function: Management and Manufacturing Industries: Professional Services Full-time position 35 hours of work per week (Overtime after 40 hours) On-the-job training is provided Qualifications Certification in Cook or Chef duties Diploma Certificate or higher Food safety certification 4 - 5 years experience in a reputable culinary establishment. Ability to communicate and work comfortably in English (IELTS 5 required).
