Overview Teacher of Mathematics

Weydon School, Surrey, England We are looking for a Maths teacher with passion, enthusiasm and a drive to make their students love the subject as much as they do. The successful candidate will need a vibrant personality, and the ability to own their classroom while building authentic relationships with students and colleagues and becoming an integral part of the School community. We are a school driven to challenge students and to help all students succeed and reach their full potential during their five years at school. We are looking for a candidate who shares these values.The candidate should have a good subject knowledge of Maths and want to become part of a team to collaborate on the KS3 Mastery curriculum and schemes of learning, and on key stage 4 lesson resources and best practice to develop a Maths curriculum that has real intent and challenges all students to develop their mathematical fluency.Responsibilities Support and develop students' mathematical understanding and fluency across KS3 and KS4.Collaborate with the Maths team to contribute to the KS3 Mastery curriculum and schemes of learning.Develop and share high-quality lesson resources and best practices to challenge all students.Own your classroom and build strong, authentic relationships with students and colleagues.Requirements Good subject knowledge of Mathematics and a desire to contribute to a team approach to curriculum development.Willingness to contribute to transforming community education and to work in a rapidly improving school with excellent facilities.Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people; willingness to share this commitment as a member of staff and volunteers.Benefits Extensive whole-school, research-informed CPD programme to develop teaching pedagogy and professional practice.Membership of Weydon Multi-Academy Trust (WMAT) with collaboration across partner schools and the i2i SCITT.Commitment to safeguarding with DBS checks and safer recruitment procedures.Equal Opportunities employer; flexible interview timing may be used where appropriate.This appointment is subject to safer recruitment procedures and an enhanced DBS check.
