Based in Abu Dhabi, the team is focused on operational excellence, category growth, and delivering a best-in-class customer experience in one of our key markets.About the Role As Associate Director – Groceries, you will lead Careem’s grocery operations across Abu Dhabi. Your mandate spans P&L ownership, cross-functional execution with supply chain, category and growth teams, and delivering customer and partner satisfaction. This is a high-impact role that requires strategic thinking, operational muscle, and strong people leadership.What You'll Do Own the full P&L for Groceries Abu Dhabi and drive topline growth and margin improvement Lead cross-functional operations covering supply chain, logistics, partner success, and growth strategy Build and scale partnerships with leading retailers and local suppliers Define local GTM strategy for assortment, pricing, and promotions Optimize last-mile delivery experience by collaborating with fleet and CX teams Set up local processes and SOPs for daily execution and long-term scalability Build and manage a high-performing local operations team Collaborate with central grocery functions on roadmap and experimentation Monitor market dynamics and adapt strategy accordingly What You'll Need10+ years of experience in operations, strategy, supply chain or general management; preferably in high-growth B2C businesses or grocery retail Proven track record of P&L ownership and team leadership Analytical mindset with comfort in data tools (Excel, SQL, Tableau)Strong problem-solving and execution skills Strategic thinking with bias for action and ability to work in ambiguity Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills Passion for Careem’s mission and the region What we’ll provide you We offer colleagues the opportunity to drive impact in the region while they learn and grow.
