The responsibility of a Data Analyst is to analyze and synthesize data into meaningful insights and use data to create predictive models using machine learning algorithms and advanced statistical analysis. The findings have to be communicated effectively to aid in critical decisions. A Data Analyst must work closely with stakeholders to identify issues and propose data-driven solutions that help to achieve the objectives of the university.Job-Specific Responsibilities Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities and needs to deliver and propose solutions for effective decision making.Perform data mining and analyze data from different information systems to discover the trends and patterns in data.Use machine learning algorithms and statistical methods to create actionable plans and provide solutions to challenges.Produce executive reports for relevant stakeholders with clear recommendations and insights.Use predictive modeling to improve student performance and retention, identify at-risk students, predict future rankings of the university, and assess areas for improvement.Basic Qualifications Master’s degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related discipline.Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Data Scientist/Statistician, or in a similar role.Technical Skills Proficiency with different machine learning algorithms, advanced analytics, and data mining techniques.Strong understanding of mathematics and statistics.Working knowledge of programming languages such as R, Python, and database query languages such as SQL using Oracle, SQL Server, and SQL query tools like TOAD and SQL Developer.Proficiency in statistical software such as SPSS; advanced knowledge of statistical methods and techniques (regression, statistical tests, distributions, etc.) and experience in statistical analysis.Ability to interpret and assess data, analyze trends, and forecasting using regression and other methods of statistical modeling.Strong report writing skills and the ability to translate technical content into understandable and compelling reports.Knowledge of data warehouse solutions and data lakes.Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau.Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure.Additional Experience and Skills Excellent oral and written communication skills.Analytical aptitude in problem-solving with high attention to detail.Ability to work under indirect supervision.Effective interpersonal skills and collaborative management style, including teamwork and team building ability.Comfortable with ambiguity and willing to acquire new skills outside of comfort zone. #J-18808-Ljbffr
