About The Role As a First Commis Chef, you will be responsible for executing assigned tasks under the supervision of the Chef de Partie / Demi Chef de Partie. Your duties include assisting in the preparation, cooking, and plating of food items in accordance with airline standards and food safety protocols. Responsibilities Ensure hygiene and grooming standards are maintained. Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) system for handling raw materials and processed foods. Produce meals according to flight load and label them with clear names and dates for easy handling. Coordinate with staff to use raw materials efficiently, minimizing waste and maximizing yield. Collaborate with DCDP for section planning and support during menu presentation. Complete all assigned activities on time and report according to the production plan. Delegate tasks assigned by senior staff to assistants. Follow instructions from seniors to ensure smooth operations and assist in implementing new processes or techniques. Experience in large catering operations or five-star hotels, along with knowledge of HACCP policies and quality procedures, is highly beneficial. Preferred Skills Basic food hygiene and HACCP knowledge. Awareness of trends in fine dining service industry. Computer skills for inventory management. Ability to supervise and train diverse staff in high-pressure environments. Planning and supervisory skills. Good communication skills in English (oral and written). Knowledge of Food Safety and Airside Safety protocols. Understanding of Menu Specification, Load Matrix, and Menu Cycles.
